Tacna olive protects against aging and is anticarcinogenic

Scientific studies carried out in laboratories in Spain and Greece on samples of Tacna olives have shown that they have a high content of phenolic compounds, which have very valuable antioxidant, antitumor, anti-inflammatory and anticarcinogenic effects.

This was stated at a press conference by representatives of the Economic Development Agency, the Mesa de Concertación del Olivo and the Economic Development Management of the Regional Government of Tacna.

The nutrition specialist, Lesly Carnero, spoke about this research, the process that was carried out, and that the component called “hydroxytyrosul” is responsible for providing the properties to the Tacna black olive, such as: purity (high nutritional value), skin rejuvenation, cancer prevention, helps fight free radicals, among others.

“A very important molecule has been found that is a very valuable antioxidant in a food and the olive has this component called hydroxytyrosol, which is highly antioxidant, that is, it protects us from cellular aging, it is a high anti-inflammatory, it is anticarcinogenic and has many other benefits,” said the general manager of Pro Olivo, Lyris Monasterio Muñoz.

He stressed that in the result of the olive oil has been found to be totally genuine, unaltered, pure and its compounds are found in high content compared to other olive oils.
